Sound & Alarms

My alarm isn't making any sound. What's wrong?
  1. Check the Silent Mode switch on the side of your iPhone — make sure no orange is showing.
  2. Press the volume up button to raise the Ringtone & Alerts volume in iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics.
  3. Go to Settings → Focus → Do Not Disturb and confirm Morning Echo is allowed through.
  4. Open Morning Echo and make sure at least one alarm is toggled on (green).
  5. Confirm you have a voice recording, wake-up phrase, or personality selected.

Morning Echo alarms use the Ringtone & Alerts volume channel, not the media volume. Use your iPhone's side buttons when no audio is playing to adjust this.

The alarm fired but I only got a sound — no voice message.
  1. Make sure the app is installed and not force-quit from the app switcher.
  2. Re-open Morning Echo and re-toggle the alarm off and back on to re-register it with the system.
  3. Confirm you have a voice recording, wake-up phrase, or personality selected in Settings.
How do I control the alarm volume?

Morning Echo alarms use two volume channels:

  • Lock screen / background alarms: Controlled by the Ringtone & Alerts slider in iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics. Press the volume buttons while no audio is playing to adjust it.
  • While the app is open: The System Volume slider in Morning Echo's Settings tab controls playback volume directly.
I'm wearing my Apple Watch and the alarm goes to my Watch instead of my iPhone.

This is alarm routing behavior. To keep alarm audio on your iPhone:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap My Watch → Notifications.
  3. Find Morning Echo and set it to Notifications Off.

Your Apple Watch automatically shows snooze (Digital Crown) and dismiss (side button) controls when the alarm fires — no extra setup needed.

Voice & Recordings

How do I change my wake-up recording?
  1. Tap the Record tab (microphone icon) at the bottom of the app.
  2. Record a new message or select an existing one.
  3. Tap the recording to set it as your active wake-up sound.

Free accounts can store up to 3 recordings. Premium unlocks up to 10.

What are Voice Personalities?

Voice Personalities are pre-recorded high-quality wake-up calls in two styles:

  • Natural — calm, warm, and encouraging
  • Sassy — direct, energetic, no-nonsense

Two personalities are free. Upgrade to Premium to unlock all 6. Find them in Settings → Voice Personalities.

Is my voice recording uploaded or stored in the cloud?

No. Your voice recordings are stored exclusively on your device and are never uploaded to any server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Does Morning Echo work without an internet connection?

Yes. All alarms, recordings, and settings are stored locally on your device. Morning Echo works fully offline once installed. An internet connection is only needed to purchase or restore Premium subscriptions.

Premium & Billing

I upgraded to Premium but my features are still locked.
  1. Open Morning Echo and go to Settings → Restore Purchases.
  2. If that doesn't work, sign out of your Apple ID and sign back in, then try restoring again.
  3. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

How do I cancel my Morning Echo Premium subscription?
  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your Apple ID at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Find Morning Echo Premium and tap Cancel Subscription.

Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. Apple manages all billing — Morning Echo cannot process refunds directly. For refund requests, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
